April 15th – 30th 2025 Anticipated Game List
Dive the Depths

April 15 – PC
From Starpixel Studios, comes a 2D roguelike with a twist: Its underwater. Fight off horrifying and mesmerizing deep sea creatures.
With sonar acting as your minimap, the game features a beautiful cool color palette.
I watched a bit of the devs streaming this, and it looks like a really fun take on the indie roguelike genre.
Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Tape 2
April 15 – PC | PS5 | Xbox Series X/S
When it come’s to Don’t Nod’s two part episodic, there is a lot of anticipations as to whether Tape 2 can maintain the level of quality that Tape 1 accomplished.
Set in a familiar 90s backdrop, and details that really allow the characters personalities to shine…
Lushfoil Photography Sim
April 15 – PC | PS4 | PS5 | Xbox One | Xbox Series X/S
Unfortunately, traveling around the world for leisurely photography is not a reality for most of us. This is where Lushfoil comes in.
It is rare for a simulator to really excite me, but I could easily see myself getting lost in these intricate landscapes for hours.
Including all the features you’d expect from a DSLR, your imagination seems to be the limit in this beautiful work of art coming from Annapurna Interactive.
Monument Valley & Monument Valley II

April 15 – Switch
The incredibly popular mobile puzzle series makes its way to the Nintendo Switch! And if you happen to have a Netflix subscription, then you have access to the third game in the series as well!
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
April 17 – PS5
From developer MachineGames, this well reviewed Indiana Jones game published by Bethesda makes its way to the PS5! This one has been getting a lot of love and is definitely on my list of games to play.
Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree

April 17 – PC | PS5 | Xbox Series X/S
Mandragora is an action RPG in the popular 2.5D style (being that of Trine, not Octopath Traveller). A side-scroller that the Xbox store refers to as having “Metroidvania and Soulslike elements.”
This is not a genre I have given much attention to, but this one definitely sounds appealing. The issue with a 40+ hr RPG sidescroller is that the gameplay can get tedious; but with a supposed focus on difficult yet clean combat, Mandragora might be an exception.
Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate
April 17 – PC | PS5 | Switch
A revamped remaster of the 2013 Beat ’em up Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds; developer and publisher Rocket Panda did a complete overhaul by rebuilding the game on Unreal Engine 5.
This chibi waifu brawler game addresses some of the multiplayer concerns of the original by adding up to 8 players and cross platform.
The most enticing thing about this game to me it how it manages depth of field: foreground, and background. No more lining up and missing the enemy, there’s only two places you could be.
Rusty Rabbit
April 17 – PC | PS5 | Switch
Rusty Rabbit is a Metroidvania platformer starring a rabbit in a mech suit. That alone is why this game is worth giving a look. So far, there are some mixed critic reviews on Metacritic, so the verdict is still out on whether the gameplay leaves something to be desired. The upside? It only comes in at $20, which is super appealing after all the controversy of Nintendo’s 80-90 dollar games for the Switch 2!
Lunar Remastered Collection
April 18 – PC | PS4 | Xbox One | Switch
The Lunar Remastered Collection brings a classic beloved series to current day! As someone who hasn’t had access to these JRPGs from the early 90s, I am thrilled to have the chance to dive in!
Maliki: Poison of the Past
April 22 – PC | Switch
Maliki, of webcomic fame, now gets its own game! Poison of the past is an adorable RPG featuring turn-based combat and cute chibi characters. During dialogue, we also see the characters in their classic 2D artstyle. In addition to combat, there is exploring, and little puzzles to solve as well.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
April 24 – PS5 | Windows | Xbox Series X/S
Now this one is probably my most anticipated release of the month, and I know I am not alone in that. Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG that incorporates quick time events into performing the selected combat moves. This theoretically could get old, but if I know anything from having played Paper Mario, it’s that it actually keeps your attention by adding another level of pressure.
The journey to confront the evil paintress seems perilous, but the world in which the player travels looks absolutely gorgeous. I remember the first time I saw a trailer for this game it gave me chills; so let’s hope the experience of playing it does the same!
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
April 24 – PC | PS4 | PS5 | Xbox Series X/S
The Fatal Fury franchise from the 90s is set to be revived on the 24th with the release of City of the Wolves. Aside from the standard arcade fight mode, City of the Wolves will also include a single player RPG mode.
For me personally, the most enticing thing about this release is the new characters it will feature, including: Cristano Ronaldo, Chun-Li, Salvatore Ganacci, and more.
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy
April 24 – PC | Switch
Another entry to this month’s Tactical RPG category, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy takes place over a hundred days, and seems to follow a very Fire Emblem: Four Houses style of gameplay. You will spend time during the day exploring the academy and conversing with other characters, and discovering secrets. The combat of the game is somewhat classic SRPG.
Candidly, I wasn’t too sure about this game, but the website for it really blew me away. The stylized attention to detail, and really cool menu screen animation left me thinking, “if they put this much effort into making the site look so cool and user friendly, I can only imagine how much effort went into the game itself.”
Super Technos World: River City & Technos Arcade Classics

April 24 – PC | PS5 | Switch
Super Technos World is a collection of 11 unique games (as well as one game variant) originally made by Technos Japan for arcades and early home consoles. Bask in the retro 80s/90s arcade vibes as you play from a selection of beat-em-ups, party games, and an action RPG.
At a sticker price of $30, you’re essentially paying $2.50 a game which is likely a lot less than you’d have spent at the arcade on them 35 years ago.
Days Gone Remastered
April 25 – PS5
Here we are again with a Playstation remaster of a game that is, well… not very old. As in only 6 years old; but there must be a reason. Right? Well, sort of. The game was designed for the prior gen console, so the devs suggest that the power of the PS5 has given them a chance to excite the game’s graphics to a significant enough degree. Additionally, the remaster will include a wave based game mode that sounds something akin to C.O.D. Zombies.
In a time where many are pointing fingers at Sony for needless upgrades and Nintendo for overpriced hardware, the former had the foresight to list the game at only $49.99 for new players and a simple $10 upgrade cost to any who own the original on PS4. Likely a wise move.
Forza Horizon 5
April 29 – PS5
As an Xbox user, I often have to sit around hearing about how great the PlayStation exclusives are and simply hold my breath hoping they eventually get an Xbox release. This… this is one that I actually had access to first! MWAHAHAHA. Well dang, this does feel good!
With Forza Horizon 5, the series continued to upgrade the size and quality of the map, furthering the open world cruising possibilities of the game while between races.
MotoGP 25
April 30 – PC | PS4 | PS5 | Xbox One | Xbox Series X/S | Switch
Coming to well, everywhere, is the newest addition to the MotoGP games. This one has all the hallmarks of a modern racing sim. The game will feature 22 tracks from the current MotoGP circuit, and each bike will have a distinct sound from having recorded it live. If MotoGP and/or racing simulators are your thing, this is likely one worth looking at.
Conquest Dark
April 30 – PC
Coming to Steam on the 30th: Conquest Dark, published by Mad Mushroom, is an ARPG Rogue-lite where the player quickly must power up to fight off hordes of enemies. With a large breadth to its customization, Conquest Dark will likely be perfect for those of us who love combining strategy with action.
Skin Deep
April 30 – PC
By now, it is probably widely-known that the games Annapurna publishes are bangers. So many hits in the indie-game world in a relatively short period of time will do that. The question is: does this remain true after their staff exodus last year? I find it likely after the success of Wanderstop and its music composed by the legendary C418.
So now it comes down to Lushfoil, and Skin Deep to deliver sucesses.
Developed by BLENDO games, Skin Deep is a funky FPS story game set in a capitalistic future. With gameplay that looks like Among Us was made into an FPS, Skin Deep takes you through a single players stressful endeavors upon a space ship. Awakened from a cryogenic freeze by space pirates, use wit and skill to ward them off.
IN SUMMARY
There is the complete list of every outstanding game we are excited about this April, stay tuned for a complete list of anticipated games this May!
